Lead Time:
Varies based upon parts and approvals on items. If performing Etching or engraving services on manufactures products a full First Article report shall be supplied with all first runs.
Setup Fees:
Depending on the job and complexity of file. Typically, a fee of $25+ applies to get job setup for the initial run.

How does the process work for getting items laser cut

A quote for services will be created. We charge based on the run time, so we price out each job individually. Call or email for quote.

Send us your artwork, quantity needed and material.

Let us know if you need us to supply raw materials or if materials will be supplied. (All Material will be picked up so no need to ship we go to you).

Once you have our quote and decide to move forward, we create an order, and send you a digital mockup
-
Approval of mockup or make changes, we custom laser cut the parts and deliver or ship back to business.

If required a First Article can be done for first runs. Fees shall apply.
Accepted file types for laser engraving and cutting
Vector art is always preferred! We use Adobe Illustrator for all our designs.
Please submit your files in the below file types for custom laser cutting. These should be vector-based files and ready to laser cut.

You can send files in the below file types for custom engravings. These file types work well for photographs, images or clipart. In general, the higher the resolution (or larger the file) the better the quality the artwork will be and the better resulting laser engraving we can achieve.

Custom Laser Cutting

When it comes to laser cutting, we follow the vector lines in the file. The laser cuts at the center of this line.

In CorelDraw, make lines that need to be cut "Hairlines". In Adobe Illustrator, make them) 0.003 in wide.

Make the lines RGB RED.

The largest area we can cut in our bed within 1 or 2 days is 18x24. Able to cut larger items 36x30 with longer lead times.

If you have the exact specifications and tolerances, you may want to adjust for the kerf (the thickness of the laser beam as it cuts), which is about 0.0015" on each side (laser beam thickness is about 0.003"). So, if you want a square to be exactly 5.0" you want to size it in the file at 5.0015". These numbers are approximate and can change based on material and thickness of the material.
What materials can we cut:
Fabric & Leather - Paper& Cardboard - Plastic (sheet film & molded) - Polyester - Polycarbonate - Mylar - Rubber (natural Synthetic & Foam) - Wood - MDF - Plywood.
For wood, we can cut up to 1/2" wood easily, we prefer 1/4" or 3/16" thick for best results.
Plywood laser cuts but only up to 5mm . It is more difficult to cut because of the high glue content and does not result in as clean of cuts.
MDF wood is better, and basswood and Baltic birch cut nicely (Baltic birch at 3mm is great).
